O-Ring Forum aroused great interest

Participation at Conferences / Trade Fairs and in Expert Committees 2018

The first O-Ring Forum took place in the conference rooms of the Mercure Hotel in Mannheim from 20 to 21 June 2018. It was organised by ISGATEC GmbH and led by Dipl.-Ing. Bernhard Richter from the O-ring testing laboratory of the same name.

Although the O-ring is probably the most widely used form of seal, it is usually neglected at sealing meetings and conferences. Now it was in the spotlight for two days, which was very well received by the more than 50 participants. For many, it was a first-class training programme on the subject of O-rings, which is helpful for professional practice and which a seminar cannot offer in this breadth. There was particular praise for the range of presentation topics and the high-calibre speakers who were able to be recruited for this event. The presentations covered the whole range of topics for O-ring users, starting with global procurement, topics relating to the material, installation space, application properties, special applications such as contact with drinking water, coatings and finally the damage analysis of O-rings. In addition to the technical presentations, there was also plenty of time for mutual exchange. As almost all participants took part in the evening programme, the technical discussions could be continued in a pleasant atmosphere.

Due to the great interest and positive feedback, the 2nd Mannheim O-Ring Forum will be organised in two years’ time. It is planned for 17 and 18 March 2020.
