Expansion of our service portfolio: Compound development at OPR

By expanding our compound development capabilities, we are strengthening our unique expertise in elastomers and underlining our commitment to supporting customers as a competent solution partner throughout every stage of their elastomer projects. Thomas Klett is a key figure in this development. He is strengthening our team with his many years’ experience in elastomer compound development.

We are now embarking on a new chapter at OPR. The development of elastomer compounds as a standalone service is set to become an integral part of our portfolio. This will enable us to position ourselves even more clearly as a comprehensive development partner for demanding elastomer projects. In Thomas Klett, we have recruited a proven expert with over 30 years’ practical experience in compound development at a renowned seal manufacturer. His extensive expertise enables us to develop bespoke, application-optimised elastomer compounds specifically tailored to our customers’ requirements.

As a further important step, we are planning to set up a processing pilot plant with two injection moulding machines in the coming year. This will enable us to expand our compound development in a targeted manner to include the areas of processability and prototyping.

This infrastructure enables us to closely integrate material development, processing and initial component samples – from the formulation right through to a fully functional prototype.
