Refrigerant compatibilty Tests

Resistance to solvents for nonmetallic materials in contact with combustion gases has to be proved by defined storage and redrying tests in acetone steam, dimethylformamide steam and n-pentane.

To qualify elastomer materials for hoses, often a test directly on the hose is required. For this a splitting machine is available at the O-Ring test laboratory.

This test is required from users as complementary test to FDA 177.2600 to safeguard the resistance of sealing materials to disinfectants and detergents.

The low temperature behaviour of elastomer materials is described in confusingly many different test methods by suppliers or in some cases outlined very vaguely and not credibly.

As the service life of elastomers is limited due to the chemical failure mechanism of ageing through heat, the influence of temperature on service life can be depicted by means of Arrhenius lines.

Blow-By gas mixtures are generally defined as gases which within the internal combustion engine get into the crankcase because of the overflow of the piston.

We perform tests in water or steam, in coolant mixtures and other aqueous mixtures until over 200°C. For this approximately 70 autoclaves are available.

Regularly we conduct resistance tests where the resistance to various oils is tested. For years now we perform resistance tests according to Bosch Rexroth for numerous oil and additive manufacturers.

As accredited laboratory our results are accepted as impartial which has considerable advantages for the customer and the recipient of the test reports because these results are credible.

With the new edition of the standard ISO 3601-5 in April 2015 it has been achieved to define a standard for material formulations and requirements of finished parts on an international level.

Since 2009 the O-ring test laboratory Richter is an accredited testing centre of the DVGW (German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water) for conformity testing for the standards DIN EN 549, DIN EN 681-1 and DIN EN 682. For these we offer quality tests.
